Konoha

All the people were moving around getting ready for a new day. Shops were opening, neighbors were talking, and everyone in a generally happy mood. Two of the Genin Senseis were working together with their teams in conjoined training. A flyer about the upcoming chuunin exams were posted all around the training grounds.

Kiri walked around, her headband tied neatly around her forehead (normal) smiling gently as always to people that smiled to her. She enjoyed the morning sunlight, it felt refreshing. She walked over to a quiet garden, sitting down on a bench beside the flowers, reading her book.

Kitsune runs through the village for his morning routine. As he was running, he noticed a girl sitting down. Looking closer, he saw that it was his team member Kiri. He slowed down, sitting beside her, looking at the book.

She blinked, looking up at him. She smiled gently at him, "Good Morning Kitsune."

He looked back at her, "Hmm, its ok. What are you reading?"

She sighed, turning the cover over a moment for him to read the title "Loved and Lost". She bookmarked her page, shutting the book so she can talk with him.

He stared at the cover, then back at her, "Why are you reading this stuff? It looks depressing." he put his arms behind his head, reclining on the bench.

She brushed a lock of hair behind her ear, turning in the bench to be facing him, the book in her hand, "Because Kitsune, I am a girl and I know that this may sound unearthly to you, but I think love stories are beautiful." she sighed watching his delayed reaction of unenthusiastically twirling his finger.

He yawned after, looking back at her, "What is love anyway? It sounds unreal to me. You have to stay with one person forever. You always have to let her be first her be right and you can never be mad at her or else everything is your fault, unless it isn't already. And on top of all that, you feel all weird and, bleh! Who wants all that?"

She shook her head, looking down at the flowers as she spoke, "Not at all, Kitsune. Love is so much more then that. Like..The way you look at each other, or even the simplest of things, like a smile or a hug. Just the way a small action will make you feel, its truly unbelievable."

He let all that sink in before laughing, looking over at her, "Really? Has anyone "looked" at you lately?" he was laughing to himself.

She blushed slightly, looking away from his direction, quietly saying, "No." sounding a little sad, she opened up her book and began reading it again.

He sighed, feeling kinda bad for hurting her feelings. "Hey..I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make fun of your feelings..It's just..it's hard for me to understand something like that."

She kinda shrugged, looking back at him, "Its alright..Just try to be open-minded. Patience wouldn't hurt either you know." She eyed him slightly, "You'd be surprised what kind of person you become when you fall in love." she teased lightly at the end, sticking her tongue out.

He blushed, looking sideways scratching his head, "Yeah, like that will ever happen. Training is more important than "feeling" all warm and mushy. Who needs love when you can be the best?" he reclined back again closing his eyes.

She sighed one last time, leaning back on the bench as well, day dreaming of tomorrow days.

He wondered when they would start training when it dawned on him. "Hey Tera, we haven't trained together and I was wondering, what is your style of battle. Like, whats your clan or bloodline?"

She shrugged slightly, "Hokage-sama says he can sense a deep power within me, but hes not sure what it is. Thats why he wants to train me himself."

He nodded, "Sounds nice. Can't wait to see what it is."
